READING MATERIALS (Filipino Short Stories)

Reading short stories play a major part in developing good reading skills of our children. Most teachers and parents use these reading materials to keep their children/learners entertained while gaining momentum in reading and subconsciously developing their skills in reading.

Here are some of the reasons why short stories are still the best for young ones:

1. Language Learning
Children will encounter common and new sets of words in reading short stories. It is a great avenue to develop their language skills and learn new sets of words that will file up to their word banks.

2. Improves Imagination
Short stories often time include extraordinary scenarios. For such reasons, children are getting more and more attracted to read this type of material which apparently increases their imagination abilities. We teach our children to be creative and imaginative because these are important in seeing the world in different perspectives and key ingredients in meaningful learning.

3. Boosts Confidence
As simple as it sounds, children who can read well are considered more confident in the field of education and in real life. Through short stories, children will be able to maximize their skills in reading. The more interested the children are, the more materials they are going to read which leads to better reading skills. If your child gains this, then he or she will more likely become confident anywhere he/she goes.

These materials are only supplementary and are intended to help our children/learners to have some useful educational materials and for their parents to motivate them to study even in the comfort of their homes.
