DAILY LESSON LOGS | GRADES 4-6 | TERM 2 WEEK 1 | September 16–18, 2026
Teachers in Grades 4 to 6 can now begin preparing for the start of Term 2 with these Ready-Made Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs) for Week 1, covering September 16–18, 2026.
Prepared for Key Stage 2, these lesson logs follow the DepEd ILAW Framework and are intended to give teachers a convenient starting point for planning and delivering their lessons during the opening week of the term.
The materials are based on the prescribed learning competencies while giving teachers enough flexibility to adapt activities, examples, assessments, and teaching strategies according to the actual needs of their learners.
TERM 2 – WEEK 1 AT A GLANCE
Dates: September 16–18, 2026
Key Stage: Key Stage 2
Grade Levels: Grades 4, 5, and 6
School Year: 2026–2027
Framework: DepEd ILAW Framework
Since the opening week of Term 2 covers three school days, the DLLs are organized to help teachers manage the expected lessons and competencies within the available instructional time.
Each lesson provides a clear sequence of activities that may serve as a guide for classroom instruction.
GUIDED BY THE ILAW FRAMEWORK
The ILAW Framework helps teachers organize lessons in a way that connects learning objectives, classroom activities, and assessment.
For learners in Grades 4 to 6, instruction increasingly goes beyond recalling information. Learners are expected to explain ideas, apply skills, solve problems, communicate their understanding, and participate in more meaningful learning tasks.
Through the ILAW-based structure, teachers can gradually move learners from what they already know toward deeper understanding and application of new concepts.
At the same time, the framework allows teachers to make adjustments whenever learners need additional support, practice, enrichment, or more challenging activities.
MEETING THE NEEDS OF KEY STAGE 2 LEARNERS
As learners progress through Grades 4 to 6, classroom activities may require greater independence, participation, and higher-order thinking.
Depending on the lesson, teachers may provide opportunities for:
individual and group activities;
critical and creative thinking;
problem-solving and real-life application;
reading, writing, and oral communication;
performance-based tasks;
formative assessment and feedback; and
remediation or enrichment activities.
The ready-made DLLs may be adjusted to suit these different learning needs.
Teachers may simplify or extend activities, provide localized examples, modify assessment tasks, or use alternative teaching strategies depending on learner readiness and classroom conditions.
USE THE DLLs AS A TEACHING GUIDE
These materials are designed to support—not replace—teacher preparation and professional judgment.
Before using the DLLs, teachers are encouraged to review the lesson objectives, activities, assessment tasks, and learning resources to make sure they are appropriate for their learners.
Necessary changes may be made to ensure that each lesson remains relevant, manageable, responsive, and aligned with current DepEd curriculum requirements.
These Ready-Made DLLs for Key Stage 2 – Term 2, Week 1 may be used as practical references as teachers prepare for another term of learning in Grades 4, 5, and 6.
